Jacob is officially a stand up comedian!

He and our friend Charles took a stand up comedian class and got to perform tonight at an open mic, they did so great! Both were naturals on stage and had the audience really laughing, which you know is the goal.

Before you ask, Jacob won’t be leaving his day job anytime soon, but he did have a good time! I’m so proud of him for going out of his comfort zone and sharing his funny sense of humor with everyone!

Friends, I’ve had two good days in a row! 🥰🙌🏼

I was nervous this morning, because I needed a nap after getting everyone off to school. But after said nap and a set back of eating 4 pieces of pie from pie day yesterday; for the record they were delicious and I loved every bite, but my stomach didn’t love them quite as much. And my children broke my new water bottle I just bought because they broke my other one on SUNDAY. 🤦🏼‍♀️👎🏼

Anyway other than that, I enjoyed being outside with my kids, timed myself to see how long I can continuously run (13 1/2 minutes, I’m happy about that!), took another nap, helped with homework, had a little one on one time with Max and Steven, made dinner with William (he chose German pancakes and smoothies), and even had enough stamina to sweep and mop the floor before bedtime, which they desperately needed it!

The one good thing about going through crummy days, or times in general, is the blessing you see your everyday life to be afterwards. I’m so grateful for an ordinary day that I was able to be present for. Nothing huge happened, but there was a lot of little moments that I was able to connect with my people, and I’m beyond grateful for it! 🥰

I wrote this poem of sorts the other morning. I’ve had to stop myself multiple times from linking my worth with what I’m able to accomplish during the day. I know it’s not true, and that it’s silly, but it’s felt very true in those moments. I’m going to have to unpack why I feel that so strongly and try to unravel my beliefs behind it. In the meantime, enjoy my thoughts.

I am light

I am light
Not because of what I’ve done or have not
But I am light because  I am

My worth is inherent
It is not earned or taken away
I have worth because of who I am

I am beauty
Not because of what I look like
But I am beauty because  we all are

We are all light, worthy, and beautiful
Our actions may help us hide or share our light and beauty
But we are all worthy and filled with beautiful light  because we all came from the same Heavenly Light

I’m not the “go all out on holidays” kind of mom. I’m the “if it’s easy and convenient let’s do something fun on holidays” kind of mom. Today that meant making green eggs for breakfast and these cute rainbows after school. Green smoothies were on the menu too, but we didn’t have time because we went to a park to enjoy this beautiful spring weather.

The kids loved it, I loved watching them love it, and I loved that so many wanted me to take their pictures with their creations. Plus they tasted good, so it was a win all around!

Today we got to celebrate my neice before she gets married next month, and it was so fun! I love getting together with family and friends, and I’m so excited for Justice and Brady! ❤️

I’d like to remember this morning when I was overwhelmed and didn’t know if I’d get everything done, this mantra saved me:
I have everything I need to make today successful.
It was exactly what I needed to help me stay calm and remember perfection is overrated.

Also, the kids earned another family adventure for their bathroom hygiene goal, and so we went swimming. I LOVE watching my kids have fun together, find courage, and try new things. Every time we go the littles get more and more comfortable in the water.
